Objectives of WA6 “Teaching Competence Development”
To scale-up and scale-out education in AI, and related transformative technologies, it is necessary to broaden and deepen the knowledge in these topics among our university teachers and staff. This creates conditions for teachers to teach about these topics in their own courses. WASP-ED WA6 works to increase competence on AI and teaching about AI among teachers and staff at universities.
To share best practices and further strengthen teaching competence, WASP-ED WA6 has established a national community on education in AI and related transformative technologies to learn from each other and to discuss common challenges.
WASP-ED WA6 has developed five training modules aimed at people who work with collegial educational development of teaching in higher education. The modules are designed so that they can be used in their entirety or in parts and, for example, included in existing courses in teaching and learning in higher education. The six modules have the following themes:
Module 1 Introduction to AI
Module 2 Understanding how AI works: laborative module
Module 3 Ethics, opportunities and risks
Module 4: Generative AI in Education
Module 5: Relating AI to one’s own discipline and teaching practice
